Claris Emailer used to be able to do this, but that was years and years
ago. Right now, there are only two ways to send & receive AOL
mail....using the AOL software or through a browser at www.aol.com. That's it.

You can use Netscape 7.x to send and receive AOL mail. AOL bought Netscape a
few years ago, and reconfigured it to allow AOL users to handle their AOL mail
accounts using it. I'm not talking about using the browser to access
www.aol.com for mail. Netscape itself will handle AOL mail accounts.
