Not that you asked for opinions (but, then again, that's what happens 
in groups like the X-Apps list), but I strongly recommend that you 
upgrade to VPC 6.0 or 6.1.

It's sooooo much better (stable, faster, etc.) than VPC 5.  I used to 
run it with Win98, and now use it daily with W2K, mostly with 
Windows-only apps like Microsoft Project, SolidWorks and MindJet's 
mindmapping software.  The networking setup is straightforward for both 
wired (built-in Ethernet) and wireless (built-in 802.11b).  YMMV and 
all that.
