Ideally, all your apps should be in the Applications folder instead of
the Downloads folder and elsewhere. Quit Firefox, then drag it to the
Trash. If you are not sure, launch Activity Monitor and quit it from
there. If one app is taking up too much space on your hard drive and
preventing you from downloading more, you need a larger hard drive.
