Onkyo Digital Audio Processor

Anyone here using the Onkyo USB Audio Processor to bring sound into  
their Mac? I just got the MSE-U33HB (cheap from Outpost)  which seems  
to work well. I don't think I'm getting as hot a signal as I should. Is  
the fader on the unit the only way to control input levels? The input  
sliders in PeakLE and Sound Studio don't allow adjustments.
