As I say... I'm running a G4 PB 550... A) My computer can boot from 
an external boot disk and B) I've booted off it before with OS9... 
and it DID seem marginally faster.

I don't understand how it could be any slower than my internal drive. 
It's firewire and it's of a faster speed... I think it's 7200RPM as 
opposed to my internal which is I think 5200RPM.
