In 7 years, I have never lost data with the Mac, and the only time I had an unrecoverable crash was when the hardware failed -- and even then I could boot with a CD and scrape the data. The only time my 9's are rebooted is when the cable company tries to insist it's me instead of investigating themselves, like this weekend when I finally informed them my house wires were cut. The poor little iMac I was using to troubleshoot the connection was rebooted about 5 times! Little did we know that when that connection went out at 3 am the night before it was due to cut wires......
