Mail in Panther uses the Safari imaging engine, so if Safari handles your
email HTML correctly Mail.app should as well.

Yes.  You need a WAP that supports "bridging mode".  Most do, but not all
advertise it.  You may have to disable WEP keys depending on the
vendor/implementation.  Other than that you just plug it in.
