Mail stops recognizing the password

Hi,

When I first start my G4 iMac in the AM I get my mail. Subsequently 
Mail attempts to get mail every 5 minutes but cannot due to an error 
with the password. I can retype the password till I turn blue but it 
never can get authorized again...Until I quit Mail then start Mail 
again.

I have spoken to the isp who tells me it is not the  RockCliff Mail 
server software but a 'bug' in Mail. He thinks it is timing out and 
shifting offline (??).

I tried to duplicate the problem from my home office and was able to 
get it to fail there also (I have my own ISP which does NOT have this 
problem).

I am using Mail 1.2 (home) and 1.2.5 (office).
G4-700 imac at Office w/X.2.6, 512mb, dsl internet
G3 400 B&W at home w/X.2 512mb, cable internet

Any ideas?
