The "sender.tiff" easter egg refers to a graphic "tiff" file included 
in the application bundle for Mail.app that has pictures representing a 
number of the principal's involved with Mail. Early in the history of 
mail, many on those list wondered why Cricket's picture would appear in 
the upper right corner of his e-mail messages.  A bit of sleuthing led 
to the sender.tiff file. Assuming a standard install, it is located 
here:

/Applications/Mail.app/Contents/Resources/senders.tiff
