[X Newbies] Conceptualizing Desktop

Which is, in fact, the same thing. That is one of the great things 
about X, everything that I create ends up in MY folder. The folder that 
I create on the Desktop and call Downloads IS in my User's folder, in 
the Desktop folder. Kewl!
