I use a USB switch ($20 at Fryes - not that popular, the guy in the department didn't even know they existed, much less on the shelf), but it is not all that great. At least in OS9, if the device is not connected (selected) at the first time the computer from which you want to print polls for the device, the print job will fail and cannot be restarted successfully. I then need to unplug the printer and plug it back in so the computer will see it, make sure the old print job is deleted, and re-print. I run five computers into two printers and wind up still doing quite a bit of cable swapping. For really seamless printing, network printers can be worth the extra expense. Just my $.02. - Vard ------------------------------------------------------------ > I have 2 iMacs and one printer. I want to share using USB without > unplugging and plugging back in ad nauseum.
