[X-Newbies] how to seamlessly use added hard drive

Problem...
I looked inside my PowerMac, and the data cable for the DVD drive  
doesn't have another connector on it, nor is there a spare power  
connector like in PC power supplies, nor is there another connector  
on the MB for a second optical drive.
Am I SOL?
