I am trying to set up FTP access on my Xserve running 10.2 6 and I am 
having a rough time.

I use terminal. go into FTP then it asks for the address:
I put in the address (a private one on our network) 192.168.1.20
then it asks for a user name. I put in my username
then it asks for a password. I put in my password

then it gives me an error:

530 Login incorrect.
ftp: Login failed.
ftp>


any ideas? Where is the log so that I can see what is going on?
I am sure it is a simple thing that I am missing. Any help is 
appreciated.
