[X-Servers] Are "Inherited Permissions" reliable in 10.3.9 ?

Is the "inherited permissions" feature available to share points in  
OS X Server v10.3.9 consistent and reliable?

Some versions of OS X Server didn't handle inherited permissions  
correctly IIRC.
