Bob, I use a APC Back-UPS Pro 1400 on my Xserve. It hasn't turned off when the power has failed. Its way bigger than you need however. You want to make sure to get a UPS that runs all power through the battery, instead of one that switches when it detects a failure, as those may not protect against the brownouts you see.
