[X-Unix] locate missing after upgrading to 10.3.x

No. It won't work if the computer sleeps. It won't wake up automatically.

But you can use GUI tools such as MacJanitor, maintain, Runscript or OnyX to
run the daily, weekly and monthly jobs at a time of your choosing.
