Thanks for your reply.

I wonder then if it would work to somehow start another instance of the 
AppleFileServer that was listening on a different port?

…but i imagine that the AppleFileServer gets its configuration from the 
netinfo db - so i bet it can not be done.

Would be cool if Apple set it up so that the another daemon would spawn 
to handle the additional connections.
