[X-Unix] Unremovable folder and the USB key

Hy!

Yesterday I got home from the school and I had my USB stick, which I
sometimes use to move data around in school, plugged into my Mac.
After an hour I noticed an odd folder with a strange name, and I knew
instantly, that a virus was in it (*.exe file, autorun.ini, strange
name of the folder).

I chflagged all the files in order to remove them, but even now, when
the folder is empty and without any flags, it cannot be deleted. I
just get permission denided error. I took ownership of the folder, but
still nothing.

Finally, I checked the USB key with the Disk Utility, and I got >100
errors, all about false sectors and stuff... But it repaired them all.

What irritates me, is that the key works just fine in both Windows
(XP) and OS X Leopard.
It just is kind of slow, but as matter of fact, all my USB keys are
slow. I use eject safely option in windows, handle the key with great
care, but still it gets slow and unreliable.

Do you see any connection between the unremovable folder and errors in
Disk Utility? What should I do, appart from formating the key? The
occurrence of unremovable folder happened to me once and I solved it
using rm -d in the Single user mode. But now this procedure seems not
to work anymore.

Greetings
                        Matevž Markovič
