Sorry to respond so late, but I'm behind in my reading. As others  
have pointed out, you must use a work-around to filter, but there is  
one that I don't believe was mentioned. It is close to the  
Applescript method that was mentioned, but may be easier. Once in a  
while, go to your Sent folder, highlight all, and pull down Apply  
Rules from the Message Menu. This will apply your filters you  
mentioned above.
