[X4U] ._*** files on a mp3 player question

Folks;
	When I copy mp3's from my Mac to my mp3 player I end up with a file  
named ._xxx for every mp3 I copy over [were xxx is the name of the  
mp3 file].  Is there a way to 1; not get this copied in the first  
place, and 2: get rid of these files so I can get continues playing  
of the mp3's?
