Apologies to all, to clarify: 

Mr. Jones posted the link. I copied the text from the location of the link and inserted it into the mail that I sent. So Mr. Jones did not state that "just calling lsregister by itself  will show some explanation". The person that wrote that quote is the person that posted the hint at MacOSXHints.com.

Sorry for the attribution confusion.
