first i have to say this: i got tiger for free through my university,  
so spending 170 or so swiss francs was not the issue…

tiger is not so much different from panther, but it's the little  
things that make it great, the little enhancements in mail, safari,  
address book, and obviously spotlight (which could be better, but  
it's a v1.0).

is tiger faster than panther? i have a 867mhz 12" powerbook with 640  
mb ram. it seems snappier but maybe it's me… boot time is faster,  
repearing permissions is MUCH faster. and it's SUPER stable, but then  
so was panther.
