Have you checked out the types of metadata and attributes that can be 
searched for?  Use the 'Other' menu item in the drop down for the 
search criteria. The wealth of choices that a user can add for 
searches should be a pretty good start on narrowing down a search.

Correct. But you can add any directory that you wish to the index.

When you select a file in the results window, isn't the path shown at 
the bottom what you want?
