[X4U] abiword

Have been playing with AbiWord 2.4.x. As a Macista I am of course  
always interested in using anything that isn't an M$ product -- as  
long as it's stable and won't cause a conflict and ^%$# up my  
machine. So the question is: how safe is it to install it? The app  
looks great, a quantum better than NeoOffice.
