Thank you for saving me the time to write exactly the same thing, but doing
so much more articulately than I could have. Digital cameras mean we take
many, many more pictures than before. Many non-technical users will, I'm
sure, quickly find iPhoto slowing down and won't be impressed. They might
blame their hardware rather than just the application itself. The app's
slothfulness does also make a mockery of the initially very useful 'Add
Image to iPhoto library' command in Safari.

Powerbook G4 1.5mhz, 1GB RAM. iPhoto startup time: 75 seconds. Number of
items: 7400.
