Maybe the original SuperDrive only supports DVD-R, but now there are many
Mac models that support burning to DVD+R, DVD+RW, and DVD-RW.

I seem to recall that one of the 10.3.x updates brought this support, so
make sure you're updated to 10.3.9 and you should be okay.
