Yes, I've never been able to get more than the master device to mount in Target Disk Mode - a ROYAL PITA when you're trying to migrate an old to newer Mac. Tip: FireWire Target Disk Mode works on internal ATA drives only. Target Disk Mode only connects to the master ATA drive on the Ultra ATA bus.
