When my PowerBooks lose the signal, it's not because of the OS X 10.4.10
update; the 17" is on 10.4.10, but the problem predated that update. The 15"
TiBook 400 is at OS X 10.3.9, so the 10.4.10 update isn't to blame for it.

My G5, which is Ethernet-connected to the router, is on OS X 10.4.9.

Sorry to hear about your troubles. Another data point for the OP to
consider.
