I have no experience with a Mini, but I would ask whether or not it
CAN be booted from an external FireWire case.
I have read that some Macs can boot to a FireWire external drive and
others can boot to a USB external drive. I have booted iMac Rev
A,B,C, & Ds to a USB external and also some early G4 tower models,
but have never had a Mini to play with, so I have no suggestions there.
I have booted my G5 PowerPC tower at home to a FireWire box, but
haven't tried it with my USB box yet. That box stays at work and I
never remember to bring it home to use in an experiment with my G5. I
guess that isn't all that important to me to try or I would remember.
