I completely agree that properly formatting long URLs by using enclosing
brackets < > gives them a better chance of surviving email; most folks don't
mind copy/pasting to avoid the blindness of a tinyurl or snipurl. For those
who do, you can also supply the shortened URL. Since you have to copy and
paste the long one to generate the short one, anyway, why not paste them
both into an email and give people a choice?
