I use both. Time Machine to do my hourly backups onto an external  
drive. SuperDuper to do my daily "cloning" of my internal drive onto  
another external hard drive. Then I also use SuperDuper to back up my  
Time Machine backup once a week, again onto an external drive. All are  
automated and require no intervention from me.
