OK..I'll give that some thought. For now, I'm back on the super-zippy Mt Lion; which was zippy right away, whether rebuilding spotlight or not.

I gave Mavericks and day and 2 fresh installs, and it was slow straightaway. not sure how long the spotlight business takes but Mt. Lion seems production-ready virtually right away.

YMMV?

thanks,

cat

Give it a little time to settle down. FWIW, my late 2008 MBPro is distinctly a bit quicker under 10.9, than it was under 10.8…
