[X4U] Snow Lep to Mavericks? iTunes and iPhoto

I was wondering that as well, or if the OS discrepancy is too great
(Snow Lep to Mavericks). Also - would Migration Assistant require that
my old Mac still be working? Right now I'm lucky if it even boots. I'm
going to have to pull the old HD and mount it as an external USB drive.
Or if I'm not mistaken, Migration Assistant can work via Time Machine
backups. Never tried it though.

Thanks,
JL
