[P1] how do I back up for a re-install?

That screen that tells you to restart is a kernel panic. After
rebooting, check /Library/Logs/ for a panic.log file. You can send that
to me if you'd like (off-list) and it may offer some clues as to what's
going on. (If you do send it to me, please include some relevant info
about the setup -- that helps. :o) Even if I cannot tell what is
happening by looking at it or by decoding the backtrace, I can always
send it to the kernel guys ... :o)
