blueberry clamshell with problems

Hi List,

I have the opportunity to purchase a clamshell (originally sold aug. 2000 in
Berkeley calif).

At present it does not work.

Seller reports "I was told that there was either a problem with the
motherboard or the AC adapter but I'm pretty sure that it is/was the AC
adapter since it worked until the battery got low, and when I plugged it in,
it wouldn't recharge."


I was thinking of offering $80-130 and then trying to fix it (bring my first
Mac into my life). 

Are the above problems going to be:

1. Expensive to fix
2. Difficulty to fix


+ any other sage like advice pertaining to my situation with the ibook.
