The generic name for this is a "whitelist." The idea is that a Real Person probably has to get into the loop to get put onto the whitelist--other mail is bounced. This is a good theory, except it shifts the burden onto the sender, who in the case of a mailing list is someone that's already doing a favor for the recipient. At least this case is well-behaved in that it doesn't send a message for each message from the list.... Mike Beede
