iBook Clamshell Keyboard Problems

Hi Again All!
    I have a slight problem with the keyboard on my iBook, when I am typing
something, say I was typing "Hello my name is" the iBook would give
something like "He llo my nam e is" for some reason the system thinks I am
pressing space when I am not. This is really annoying. Could somebody please
help. Do I simply need a new keyboard or what?
