Weird Safari

I don't have that problem - but when I click on various buttons 
(forward, back, close window, etc), as often as not nothing happens. 
I've discovered if I hold the control key on my G4 iBook down at the 
same time as I'm clicking Safari does what it is supposed to do. I'v 
tried reinstalling the program, but no luck. It's annoying.
