[iBook] encrypted backup onto external hd

Hi All,

I'm looking for a solution to backup the data on my iBook data onto an external LaCie firewire disk. 

I would like to accomplish two things:
1) I want an encrypted backup of my complete home directory on the external disk
2) I would like to use the remaining space for less important stuff. (Things already on cdrom / dvd.)

Silverkeeper 1.1 was included with the LaCie external HD, and has the functionality I want to have. It allows me to compare / check and synchronize the files on my internal HD and and the external HD. But there's no option to encrypt ... :(

What are you guys using for encrypted backups on an external disk?
