[iBook] Query re. strange font display

I have yet another question, for anyone with something to say on the 
matter...

Now and then over the past few days I've noticed a little font dsiplay 
problem when typing in Mozilla. The text I've typed will get a little 
jagged near the end of a line in my message composition box, in a sort 
of erratic fashion - i.e. the first ten words of a sentence will be 
fine, and then it starts to look "rough". Oh, heck - here's an example:

It's obviously nothing to do with the font smoothing in the OS 
preferences panel, since it comes and goes. Is it a memory issue, or an 
indicator of worse things, or-?
