Mail client question

I've been reading the list for awhile and was wondering what email 
client is it that mangles the subject line by inserting and repeating 
[CUBE] AW: each time "reply" is used so that eventually the subject 
line looks like:
[CUBE] AW: [CUBE] AW: [CUBE] AW: [CUBE] AW: [CUBE] Slot Load

This seems like a really poor design and I'd like to avoid this mail 
client where ever possible.
