kub, If you're not aware of this, it may be the applications needing more memory. Go to the application i.e.: MS Word. Highlight the icon and then either go to the get info command under the file menu or press the apple key and the 'i' key. The info window will pop up with General Info in the title with arrows on the right. Click on them will take you to memory. There you'll see two boxes, ones the minimum which you don't want to change, increase the other value by a few 1024s. If that's not clear enough the information is under the finder's Help menu search for memory. Hope that helps. And Richard's right with that much physical ram you don't need VM. Though of course some of the ram itself might be a little flaky but who knows. The only way to find out is to remove some and see what happens. Good luck Frank F Unix for stability.
