When clicking the "minus" button in the bottom of the Mail.app > Preferences
> Accounts list dialog, you are presented with this message:
> Are you sure you want to remove the account ³Your Name²?

You can look in ~/Library/Mail to see if any of your mailboxes are still
there, but I believe once they are deleted from Mail.app, they are gone.
