Andrew: Thanks for your input. FW drive mode is enabled under OS X, and the iPod's icon appears on the X desktop (as iTunes opens up too). My problem is under OS 9, as I was told that iTunes would not recognize the 4G iPod, nevertheless I would be able to use it as an external hdd. I need to transfer huge files from my work PowerMac G3/266MHz (beige with FW and USB PCI cards) to my Cube and the iPod is not showing up in my G3 running OS 9.2.2.
