Airport Extreme or 11g is hardly necessary in most cases -- really, only for big file transfers -- yet it is selling very well. And, bargain of bargains, most manufacturers of wireless equipment seem to have overstocks of 11b equipment to dump on the market. I was struck by this when I saw (and snapped up) a wireless router with 4 wired ports, an 11b unit by a respectable firm (Net Gear), for the stiff price of $9.95 (after rebate). It was a no brainer. I just wish that the wireless manufactures had started making the small, portable traveler's wireless routers while they were still doing 11b! Heck, I'd go for one of those for, say, even $15.00. Don
