I don't have any hard numbers, but on my iBook connecting with Airport over dialup, I think iCab beats Safari. I haven't held a stopwatch to any pages, but I think that iCab starts rendering text before Safari does. I also like the ad and image filtering in iCab, which really helps speed a dialup connection. Of course both Safari and iCab are still beta versions, so anything's possible in their final releases. iCab has more control over cookies and other preferences, so if you're fussy about that kind of thing (like I am), you may not want to make Safari your primary browser. If you have a broadband connection, everything I've read about Safari makes me believe that it may very well be faster than any other browser. If you're using a Duo you can forget about Safari, so enjoy iCab - or Wannabe, which is really fast. -wayne
