Duo darkening screens

Well, I tried an experiment.  I took a power board from a 280 screen 
that I have not seen darkeing corners with.  I transplanted the board 
into a screen that has definitely shown the dark corners.  THe result 
is no change.  I still get darkening corners.  This still seems to me 
like something is preventing the corner pixels from "relaxing" back 
into the ground (off) state.  We need someome well versed in LCD 
technology to answer this one.
