Someone on the Vintage Macs list found one that requires very little in the way of extra stuff. That would make the hardware end of USB for older Macs fairly easy for someone who knows olde Mac hardware very well and can build computer stuff from "scratch". The really nasty bit would be writing the USB drivers, especially for 68k systems. It may be possible for a talented hacker to make the PCI PowerMac USB drivers work on a NuBus PowerMac. The big iffy point is whether or not USB extentions for 3rd party devices would work without modification? Maybe not on NuBus PowerMacs, very likely on 68k.
