Thank you very much Mathew. I disconnected everything and reassembled it. Plugged the power supplies in and inserted the 2300c. The CD-ROM showed up in the profiler AND SCSI Probe. I put in a disk and hit "mount". Nothin doing. Now the question is the expense of a "good "active" external terminator and a driver, versus acquiring a new (to me anyway) and usable CD-ROM.
