Rob, Yes, do try leaving it unplugged overnight or longer-- and with batteries out too. I recall it happening to me at least once before that I almost gave up on my 2400 (which either had GLOD or just wouldn't power up, I don't remember) but I just left it for awhile, then plugged it in and tried it a week or two later and found that it worked.
